Retro Rehab sold my dining room table

Going...going....gone.

I never realized my dining room table had cool spline joints, but someone else did. Glad to see retrorehab found a home for the table. The guy said he actually bought the table for the cool chairs (which he is going to sell separately)...I will be curious to see how he reupholsters them.

The best part of not having a dining room table is that I no longer have a dumping ground and each day I am forced to make decisions on stuff that is in progress. I started a family tradition that the first package of peeps I see of the season, I have buy. Instead of peeps cluttering my dining room table, they were packaged and mailed that day. Actually that's not totally true... one package disappeared on its own.

Does downsizing my iphone count?

Yesterday my daughter dropped her iphone and cracked the screen.  I am actually surprised and happy that my husband kept my old G3 iphone. I will downsize to the G3 (which I like better) and my daughter is indebted to me forever.

Your home is your castle

This past weekend my husband and I spent a few nights at a lovely hotel called America's Best Inn in St. Petersburg Florida.

The warm hospitality was especially genuine when I realized that the young family who ran it, lived feet away from the check-in desk.  After remodeling  a few of the 18+ guest rooms, they created a living space to both run a business and raise a family.  They have no garage, they have no backyard, they have no dining room table (we have one thing in common). The day we left, the commotion of guests coming and going was intertwined with their daughter's birthday party complete with over 20 guests. How could they manage this? They rented a room down the street from a community center and brought this lovely trophy birthday cake.

Target Card Breakup

This was a fun way to "let go" of my Target gift card collection. I had a blast trying them all out and opening their packaging (finally). Goodbye to each one of you........You. Are. So. Beautiful.To.Me.

Retro Rehab

It is kinda bizarre that my dining room table has it's own facebook status.
Look at all the people who love it and sharing it with everyone in Minneapolis.
The page is called Retro Rehab.
The guys gets my stamp of approval for being able to fit a table and 6 chairs into his small car.
This may be my inspiration to sell the mini van now....

Supertoss Sunday

Superbowl Sunday was a day of eliminating more stuff.
Pre-show
I stumbled on a place called Rise and Run who created this lovely structure called Megan Lea's Backyard house.

Fourth quarter hail mary toss-out
As I was transfixed on the images, my daughter came into the room and broke my trance. "If you want a place like that..she pauses...you need to get rid of all of this...as her arm circles the house." We proceeded to tour of the house and that was all I needed to post the dining room table on Craigs List. Thrift store furniture was being hauled from each level and bags were mounting like the sleigh from the Grinch who stole Christmas.
My rule is if someone says no to donating an object it stays without question.
It is time to let go of Bessie.
She kept me company as I fed my youngest daughter in her nursery over 15 years ago.

My husband on the other hand said no to letting the power washer go.
A true symbol of manhood and suburbia, second to a minivan.

My daughter was the most helpful. All these purses...gone.
Touchdown
I love that this blog keeps me accountable weekly for creating progress. I may never move,
I may never be in the 850 sq ft home I drool over, but the whole process is undeniably changing my life and each step has made me feel so much lighter.

Random Inspiration

outdoor theatre on garage
I disagree. I think it's MORE spectacular outside.

deck with open roof
I believe this is two structures joined by a deck/roof. Fun concept.

Interesting gutter placement....a natural fountain.
