Honey, I think we need to buy a Subaru Outback 3.6R.

Subaru knows who their target market is.

Do American's have too many clothes?

I came across this listing of a parent selling their child's clothes on a facebook garage sale site.
She is selling 15 pairs of 4T jammies. That's a new pair every day for over two weeks.

The following documentary shows where all our clothes go to if they are not sold through the thrift stores. So wasteful.

Have I ever regret moving to a small house?

This funny post from Lauren on Hipstercrite voices the concerns of how one lives in a small space,

The answer to the question she poses, "Do you ever feel like you made a mistake?", is no. I don't regret it a bit. Her questions are directed to those in 250 sq ft, so my mansion of 950sq ft is not as confining.

Lauren asks good questons like:

Is there enough privacy?

With both our work desks in the same room and an arm's length apart, I will leave that room at night so that my rap music doesn't mix with his 80's punk. There can be too much togetherness.

Where do you put everything?

We each have one towel and a set of bedding.  Unlike the micro houses, we have a washer and dryer. A tiny river does sound inviting tho.

Here is my favorite part of her post:

"I f’ing love the idea of downsizing and living a “simple life,” but seriously, where do you put your shit? You still have some clothing and shoes and towels and all that jazz, right? Or do you just wear overalls now? Overalls and Birkenstocks and one towel that you share with your entire family. Where do you wash that towel, hmm? Do you have a tiny river that runs behind your tiny house? I bet you do. I bet your whole Goddamn property is whimsical."

This article is just hilarious--you gotta read it.
Bravo Lauren.

So far my only pet peeve is that the silverware drawer hits the towel rack so it can only slide out halfway.
I can live with that.

Best small house design of 2015

finehomebuilding.com awarded this 550 sq ft structure as this year's best small home.

First, find a picturesque hill near a remote lake:

Make a spacious bathroom with terry cloth robes for the B&B feel.

Find a table that is one piece of wood with industrial steel legs and burn calories as you stand.

Pack no trinkets, no paintings or artwork---just bring an animal skin for carpet:
