How to undecorate

I tend to dwell on what things that have a place of honor in this small house.
The empty bathroom wall was my next project.

My wavering of pounding in a nail led me to attaching a temporary hook for the holidays.

The hook then remained empty for two months.
What do I put there?
What artwork would inspire me or have importance?

Finally I realized it needed nothing.
There doesn't have to be ANYTHING in that space.

The birth of my unorthodox decorating:

permanent marker on wall, how to undecorate

You love your house the most the day it is put up for sale

An original quote about loving your house the day you put it up for sale

When we sold our first house in South Minneapolis, the realtor held a recorder to take notes for the brochure. "Beautiful coved ceiling and woodwork", I can still hear him saying. Over the river and down County Road 42 we landed in a cul-de-sac with the teased address of South Park.

Thirteen years later and what seems like five years of downsizing, we get to this point when your house is now a movie for all to see.

Eye Spy the donation box in one of the photos! Ha!

We did just replace the hot water heater...

and every light and facet in the house has been changed.
We have a fairly new furnace.
The roof is only a few years old.
Our streets are plowed first.
There is a health club within one mile.
The washer was just replaced last year.
When the garage is open at night, no one steals anything.
